Verona On Her Mind – Romeo and Juliet Collection

Description

Verona on Her Mind offers a deeply introspective portrait of Juliet, where the colors employed are intentional reflections of her complex emotional landscape. In this evocative watercolor on paper, Righetto utilizes vibrant hues to convey the depths of Juliet’s feelings, while the lines formed by droplets of color create a visual “cage” that symbolizes her emotional and physical confinement.

This striking composition powerfully represents Juliet’s psychological state—imprisoned and oppressed by the weight of familial expectations and societal impositions that bind her spirit. Righetto’s artistry captures the tension between desire and duty, illustrating how these constraints keep Juliet ensnared, echoing the struggle for freedom and self-identity within her heart.
